My Nan inspires me

For this week's Inquiry, we had to get some wise words from a role model.  So I chose my Nan.

My Nan inspires me...

She is so hardworking and is always giving to other people - if it is a hand to do something or making one of her lovely apple shortcakes.

I love my Nan so much. She is loving to me and my siblings. She helps me when I'm sad. She talks to me and I listen to her. She makes me feel so happy. I would like her to stay alive forever to stay in my life.

These are her words of wisdom:

"No matter, whatever situation your in when you go against the situation it is harder to push against. 

But if you go with the situation it is a lot easier to go through. 

Let it be."

She rang me and she told me to write this.

Letter to Jacinda Ardern

For our Inquiry task this week we had to write a letter to the Prime Minister about an issue. I choose the housing crisis.

Letter to Prime Minister 

( Jacinda Ardern)

Dear Jacinda Ardern,

I have been reading a lot of things in the news about the housing crisis. I am concerned that many people are living on the street, or crowded in a small house with many people. If we live in a country like New Zealand, why do so many people have to live like this?  

Firstly, there are not enough houses for people to live in so we need to build more. If we build more houses then this will mean people will have a job. Do you think this is a good idea?

Secondly, the cost of renting and the price to buy a house is too high for people to afford.

Many people work hard and are still not able to pay their bills. You would think people could work and pay for their bills. So why is this a problem for them?

Thirdly, if people live in crowded or poor conditions they're more likely to get sick. So that will make more problems. What does the government think about that?  

So as you can see the housing crisis is a real issue. I hope you and your government are able to fix this problem.
